Who does their own trading online? Who do you use. I'm thinking about getting back into playing some stocks. I'ld like to do it all myself, looking at scottrade and etrade. What are you guys using and what do you like about it.

Etrade, can't tell you much in comparison to the other since I just started 6 months ago

I'm about to start just to see how it is. I'm thinking of using TDAmeritrade, though. There's no minimum amount to open an account, and since I'm just starting out, I like that.

td looks pretty nice. The price per trade is killer on all of them it seems. I think I would rather pay per month/yr with unlimited trades but i don't think that exists haha.

Been using Scottrade since 1995.

Been trading online with them for as long as I can remember.

7.00 per trade each way, if you want a paper confirmation it is 8.00 per trade.

Thus, either 14.00 or 16.00 roundtrip.

Pretty simple. Works fast and fine. Never had an issue with them.

Just saw on my TDA account that they are dropping their price for online trades from 9.99 to 6.95 as of March 6. Their service and trading tools have always been top notch, now their rates are the same as the discount brokerages. You will also get a bunch of free trades when you open an account.
