CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2 AND ADVANTAGE OR DISADVANTAGE OF EITHER WAY.
1.66 1st GEAR & 3.89 REAR GEAR YEILDS A 6.45 SLR NOW A
1.80 1st GEAR & 3.89 REAR GEAR YEILDS A 7.00 SLR NOW A
1.80 1st GEAR & 3.60 REAR GEAR YEILDS A 6.48 SLR.

SO MY ? IS WHATS THE DIFF OR ADV OR DISADVANTAGE OF TAKING GEAR OUT THE TRANS ADDING IN THE REAR OR LEAVING IT IN THE TRANS ANDAKING IT OUT THE REAR IF YOU CAN REACH THE SAME SLR#

Well woudl need more info to answer the question intelligently. The engine combo and peak HP and torque as well as the torque curve will pay a big difference in my answer.

Gear change drop. Having enough horsepower to actually pull a tall gear effectively in high gear.

Too many variables to list but it sounds like you're getting caught up on the math. Your combo will have a tough time pulling a 3.60 gear efficiently unless you get after it with a lot more horsepower. The 3.60 will also change how the converter locks up.

Freebie and some food for thought. ;)
