bent 455 olds crank nodular no spun bearings 3500 pound car only went low 10s what causes this 12-1 comp 112 octain 32 degrees timing. could it be detonation please enlighten me.

Big shot of nitrous? Check the block at #4 main for cracks. Lots of folks run 2-4 deg. more timing so that should not be the issue.

Is the bottom end girdled or otherwise reinforced? What was maximum RPM? I thought the general consensus was main cap walk was responsible for most bent or cracked cranks in the BBO?

How bent is it? Trans brake? Many have insisted on using 455 iron crank at this power level and they never really last. Everything has it's limits.

I doubt it is from too much timing. Especially with that fuel. I run 12.2:1 and 110 oct. and have ran as much as 38* timing. This is on a modded 425 crank though.
