On my '79 Malibu with the frame notched to the seam (1" deep) and the fender lips trimmed, I can fit a 13" section width tire MAX.

I've run 275/60's, 295/65's, 325/50's (all D/R's) as well as 10.5 x 28's and 10.5 x 29.5 slicks. The 10.5 x 29.5 slick is the tightest fit. You can run tighter clearance on the radials as they have less sidewall flex.

15x10 with 5.5 BS. Then you can tune the back spacing using wheel spacers. If not 15x10 with a 5in bs. but it will limit the tire. This is on a stock width 8.5 in a Regal.

thanks im thinking but not sure that a malibu and regal might have a little more room on the quarter than a cutlass, with the lip being a little more rounded on a malibu and regal.not sure
