so i blew up the big block so i picked up an aluminum block 5.3 with 799s, this is my first build ever! the plan is to do turbo with stock bottom end and make 850-900whp.

the truck is a 74 single cab dually, weighs about 5700lb with me in it. going to be running a th400 with transbrake and keep the 70hd. any insight is helpful, especially on what turbo/turbos to run, and cam.

kinda heavy for a 5.3. I would stick with the BBC, alumn heads to save a little weight, and a little plate system. An econo-bbc build will easily make 500hp and a ton of tq. which you will need to get that tug moving. Get some super singles on the back, hit it 200hp, and go for it! easy low 12's high 11's.
