Got a 96 Ranger with a rod knockin with a 4.0v6. Long story short..... i find much more salvaged Explorer's out there than Rangers. What, if any difference is there between the engines and transmmissions between the two??? Anyone???

Actually i just found out the ranger has an ohv and some explorers have a sohc. Well shit!!

It is a PIA, but unless you find one w/ the same code for the computer it really doesn't matter. Just make sure you get the entire harness from the donor as well as electronics. This way you know there "shouldn't" be any issues.
