I have an NOS bottle but want to paint it with some graphics.

yea,if you remove the label the same people who handle the
label's that are on Mattress's will come to your home and arrest you

the local place here that recertifies the bottles won't pass them if they've been repainted.

Around here they only look at the stamped gov info. DOT 1800, any date.
Last I heard NHRA stopped requiring recerts, did that change again??

Thanks for the replies. I called my local welding shop that fills them and he said the only thing that is required is the D.O.T # UN 3156 label on the bottle.
Now as far as the mattress tags,, we won't go there,,,
