Hi guys. I have a NOS Cheater kit on my car. When I let go of the
transbrake it launches good
but as soon as it comes down it loses power and starts to sound like a 2
stroke dirt bike when you down shift too far. No popping or anything and
it makes a good clean motor pass, but when the kit is activated, it acts
up. I have 6psi fuel pressure and 6 degrees of timing out with a 180
shot recipe. I have 116 Sunoco in the fuel cell and a .035" plug gap. I know that's way conservative, but I want to be careful. The motor is a 434 sbc with 13.6-1.
I still have not made a good N2o pass with the t-brake. Im using an MSD 7AL3. Could there be a prob with the t-brake that could cause the nitrous kit to act up? Do I need to put a resistor or diode or something between 2 of the terminals on the relay? Should I use one of those 80amp continuous duty solenoids for the nitrous instead of a relay?
Thanks for any input.

Had similar problem with anything over 150hit. Found dropping fuel pressure took the surge out of it. If it is popping it probably lean, if it makes that hi pitched surge sound like you describe it's probably rich.....lower fuel pressure 1/4 psi at a time until it runs right. Check your plugs after each adjustment. My cal card calls for 7psi but it likes 4.75 to 5psi.

I would try re-gapping the plugs to .030" to see if that helps. Also try a different fuel like VP or maybe even Torco just for a hit to see if it helps.. What is the fuel pressure at the pump? Are you using 2 step colder plug with a retracted tip? Does the motor have a crank trigger? If so did you phase the cap to you total nitrous timing?

i agree with monty, my car did the same exact thing. i took the gap from .045 to .025 and it cured it.....
