Have any of you guys used any of the Nikon Teleconverters? I was thinking of using it with my 80-200 d f/2.8 lens. I hear some mixed reviews, let me know if you have any experience with them, good or bad.
I have used both the 1.4 and 1.7 with good results. Right now I only have the 1.7. Keep in mind you will lose stop or two. I really believe the auto-focus is a tad slower (not much, just a tad) but I don't see much difference in the sharpness.
NOTE: I would recommend using ONLY Nikon converters with your Nikon body/lens combo!
The Rockwell website mentions TC-200/201, TC-14A, and TC-14B. I use a TC-14E which is very similar in design to the TC-14B. My "E" is very sharp on my 70-200 AFS but it jumbles up the bokeh a bit - but not so much to bother me. I haven't used a TC-200/201 or TC-14A, but from what I've heard over the decades, you're best off with the TC-14B.
