Sorry to barge in but I found this website while hunting down info on TH400 rebuild. Looks like there is a bunch of knowledge and experience here. I was hoping that I might find some help and advice on my new project. I realize that this site if focused on land activites but I have a boat powered by a BBC (just over 500 hp) with aTH400 trans. Convertor is replaced with a drive plate, full manual shift, reverse pattern valve body. Clutches started slipping bad. I'm going to tear it down and rebuild my self. Lots of confusing info out there and I know I won't know what it really needs until I get it apart. I looking for advice on what type of rebuild kit to buy (clutches, steels, seal rings, etc) assuming hardparts are good. Are OEM clutches good enough, Alto red, raybestos stage 1, ???? Seal rings, iron, teflon, or ??? All advice appreciated if you are willing to help out.

Thanks in advance
Chuck
