I am looking to get a new fuel pump for my next motor. I am planning on making the move to MFI on alky if funds allow in the summer. But I wanna get the car out and run it on gas. The new motor is a 582 tall deck, I have a victor intake for it, the motor should hopefully be 850-900 HP so looking through the summit catalog and mallory 250 pump says 1200 hp, edelbrock says 1000hp then magna fuel has a higher flow rating then both and says 750 HP. So I am looking for a cheapish pump to last only 5-6 months. I have 8 AN solid fuel line from the back to the carbs. So which one?
Thanks
Jason

You stated MFI, mechanical fuel injection? Alcohol? When you decide to do that you will need a belt driven fuel pump. Best way to go for that. Now I am running a carb on alcohol and have for several years. I switched to a belt driven pump about 5 years ago and never looked back. This past season I was working on injection system and my current belt pump would handle the job just fine. (project got scrapped) If you are really considering the switch then I would not invest heavy in an electric pump. I would look around and see if I could get a used one cheap. Magna fuel is a good pump and would work well. Also try product engineering fuel pumps. If you are planning on running a couple season before switch then I would invest in new pump. Again Product Engineering Fuel Systems or Magna Fuel.
