I have a 540 BBC that I've been running since 03. I've been spraying 300-450hp shots to it without any problems... until it dropped a valve.

So, now that I have to replace pistons, I'm wondering if there is anything new/different on ring stacks that I should go with.

I have 6.535 rods and was running .043, 1/16, 3/16 ring stack with hellfire tops and a hook something or other 2nds. I don't remember what kind of gap I was running.

Should I stick with this setup or is there something better to go with? I plan on upping the compression from 11.69 to ~13.25. I'll be switching to E-85 as well.

Thoughts?

Give me a call sometime at the shop or shoot me a PM, we can discuss a few things. Would also like to see one of the used pistons. That will help me with any changes that we would need to make this time around if there is any !!!
