the govt should force everyone to buy auto insurance even if you don't have a car.

1. this increases the size of the pool, bringing costs down.

2. those with good driving records and low risk of accidents, can help pay for those with bad driving records, and teen drivers with little money.

3. there is no reason why you shouldn't be allowed to drive and have a car if you can't afford rising insurance premiums. This larger pool will lower it for everyone.

4. if you choose to not have auto insurance, you can buy out of it with a yearly fine.

The 'no disqualification for preexisting conditions' corollary would be people with terrible driving records who have lots of tickets and wrecks would pay the same as everybody else. This is perfect for people who text and drive.

EXACTLY.

which is why we need to have national auto insurance. auto accidents occur to people even with good driving records. by making all americans buy it, lowers the cost for everyone!!! its a larger pool!! That makes it more affordable to have just in case you do have an auto accident.

no longer will you have to file for bankruptcy for being in a non life threatening auto accident. Not only that, but no longer will you have to worry about your car not being fixed due to someone not havng auto insurance. Thats because it will be the law for everyone to buy it.

Don't forget to include an exemption for undocumented immigrants!

I hate bring this up, BUT, MOST states already mandate that your licensed vehicle MUST if driven on the street, have minimum coverage.

Auto accidents happen to people who don't even have a vehicle. Someone in Jacksonville is hit by a vehicle every day. They should be forced to purchase auto insurance to help spread out the cost for everyone else!

Great post.

Add 5)

If you wreck your car, you should be able to buy insurance at the body shop and the insurance company would be required by law to have have it fixed or paid off.

Then move to a state that has "no fault" insurance..ie: Michigan for example...higher rates, and insurance companies refuse to pay for your vehicle to get repaired----then we will throw into the mix uninsured drivers---FUCKIN' incredibly out of control...just what we need--MORE BIG GOVERNMENT--

This is called "states being driven by Insurance companies"...
