I have a ford nine with 35 spline axles and a spool . Was at the track and car was working fine . After making a pass the car would not go backwards . It drives forward fine but when i try to move it backwards the rear is locked . I pulled the pinion out and still the same thing. Car will roll forward but absolutely will not roll backwards . Anyone have an idea what could be the problem ? Thanks !!

Drum brake rear?

If the pinion is out, it sounds like a brake issue.

Had the same thing happen to my truck but it wouldn't go forward just backwards. Drum brakes were locked up.
