Health issues will soon force the sale of everything drag racing that I have, car, enclosed, etc. However, I'd like to run, at least once, 150 mph in the qtr. My combo is as follows:
1980 Camaro, 540 on alcohol. Dyno says 845 hp without the vacuum pump. Glide with brake. Wgt is 2900 with me in it. 456 gears.
I'd like your opinions on whether or not I can achieve my goal.

Not sure you can get there with that gear. Weight and HP looks like enough to get ya there. My car is about 950 HP/3600 pounds with me in it and I have been 149/150 in some really good air. Hope your health issues get better. Best of luck to ya on the 150.

At ~850 hp on meth also and 2900 lbs I couldn’t get there, but I’m set up soft for no box.

That is real close, so good luck and a tiny squirt shouldn’t hurt if you sprayed high gear.

This might be naive on my part and not knowing your tire, but could a switch to a tall Drag Radial give you the top end speed? Might upset your whole set up but just and idea.

Just curious, what's the current ET?
Untested as of yet. Grenaded the engine last year, got it repaired and haven't run it yet.

Yup, forgot to mention tire size. 12x32x15

At 2900 LBS Wallace racing calculator says 845 HP can run over 155 MPH. So you should make it to your goal. Good luck I hope you feel better.

Wallace shows 764 HP at the flywheel to go 150 MPH at 2900 LBS. But there are a lot of car out there that have more then 764 HP and are also lighter then that and don't get to 150 MPH. At 845 I think he's got a good shot at it.

Ive never had luck with the Wallace calculators honestly, maybe its because my current cars arent full drag setups that utilize everything perfectly to run those times but my car has almost 800 at the wheels and weighs 3200, and I trapped 141, that was also spinning half way through second before it dead hooks in 3rd and takes off. I get its not a great comparison to your car but just giving my input on the calculators. Ive turned boost up and it didnt matter much because of traction for me.
