I am in the process of putting a mock up engine in my 85stang. Iam just wondering what degree of pitch if any is desirable for the engine. From front to rear? I just wanna be able to get an opinion on this before i put the mid plate and front plate in for good. The firewall is stock trans tunnel has not been touched. Its going to be a drag radial car.

What motor and mid plate do you have?

Its an 8.2" deck engine. I ordered a racecraft midplate.

The simple way is to buy a cheap laser level at home depot or wherever, set the motor in to the height you want it, and put the laser on the back of the crank, turn/twist the motor so the laser points at the rear end pinion, and your done!!
Make sure the rear end is at ride height.........

OK, what if the pinion angle is lower that the rear of crank?
