I just want the car to be kinda quiet . Cant stand open headers .
I have the same issue as you.I have very limited room as most guys do.I first reduced the downpipe from 5 to 4" right at the turbine and then have about 4 feet of 4" straight pipe going to the left side of car dumping just under the bumper.
Last year i ran a vibrant 9" straight through race muffler and it made no difference in sound level.Didn't think it would but had to try something. This year i picked up a magnaflow 4" muffler and a dynatech vortex cone. They say combined they should reduce level by 6-10db.Which should definitely be noticable.I will find out in about a month when i get the car back together.below are links to these parts.

This round one is from dynatech that I might try if the magnaflow doesn't cut it.

Open downpipe from a turbo and open headers from a 414ci Yates motor will sound totally different. Id try it without the muffler first and then add one if you cant stand it. I belive as lone as it exits out the side of the car it shoudnt be to bad IMO.

I have a vibrant 4" but its not really a muffler even though it is classified as a muffling device
