how much boost can you run on a procharged motor 565 f3 and not have to worry about a spark issue with a 7531 and when should you piggyback it with a 8. c16 or q16 gas

1900 HP at around 7000 rpm I have now hit this limit several times on the dyno. NOTE. what the engine does on the dyno is not what it does on the track. On the track the car lays over slightly. On the dyno it shoots ducks out the exhaust. I talk about this alot in the how to dyno video, 3 things I believe, you cant have to much Fuel Pump, you cant have to much Ignition and i never heard anyone say, "i wish i would have put the cheaper part in"

X2 on the three things.

When I switched mine from the 7531 to a MSD 10 Plus it was like a different motor had arrived. The 7531 supplies about 190 Millijoules of energy to the plug. The 10 plus delivers 700 millijoules to the plug. The Mag 44 is 950 MJS and is King.

I think the 7al3 delivers 160 millijoules, but would be very compariable to the Digital 7's 190mj.

The biggest difference in the 10 Plus and the other's (other than power) is the mating of Capacitive Discharge (electronic) and Induction (mag) technologies. MSD did this through what they call "stacker coil" technology. They've combined the advantages of both ignitions into one unit.

You can piggyback the 7531 off of the 10 Plus, right?

My understanding from a number of people that have talked to MSD receintly is the 10+ box is or will be discontinued. Next choice would be to piggy back a 7531 to a 8+ box. Not as much kick as a 10+ but still the 8+ has 315-345 mj compared to a 7531 box's 190 mj output. tThats a 57% increase in spark energy.

Does the MSD 10 Plus have all of the features of the 7531?

^ what he said. The 10+ does not have all the timing features, it's just the power king off all the boxes. The only thing with more spark energy than the 10+ is the Mag's.

You can run a 10+ piggy-backed with a 7531 to have it's spark energy and the digital boxes timing controls, or you can run the 10+ with the 8979 box which is the digital timing control box designed to be run with the regular 7, 8, and 10 series ignitions.

Yep that's what they say but it is hard to see how 315-345 milliJoules per spark is going to be better than that 700 milliJoules...
