after converting to an alcohol carb i have been having problems where the car acts like it is running out of gas at full throttle.

we just put on a barry grant 400 pump..originally installed with -10 line to pump and -8 line to carb...car ran like 10.60's with a slight hesistation all the way down the track...we finally install the proper -12 line to pump and -10 line to carb and IT GOT WORSE!! car basically ran a 12.00...that was the only thing we changed..

it acts as if it is running out of fuel , but could possibly be something else..

tonight we just did a fuel pump test...it took only 13 seconds to fill up a one gallon container..

while driving the car around and revving up all is good..it runs like a raped ape until about 3 seconds into the burnout it starts to die ..give it a few seconds it comes back to life...it launches off the line good but after that it surges all the way down the track( not sure exactly why driver stays in the gas when its clearly runnign bad)

here is some more info...

float levels are set to where alcohol just barely pours out the bowls

fuel pressure is 10.5 ( too high?)

carb has front and rear power valve

another thing worht mentioning , there is only 11.4 volts getting to the fuel pump....thanks for the help

does it have needle and seats for alcohol? I have never been able to run that much fuel pressure with an electric pump with an alcohol needle and seat. You dont need pressure you need volume.
