more c4 problems

When I put the car in low (1st) gear it locks up like its in park. I've checked the cable adjustment several times and even recruited some help starting in nuteral and making sure the cable fitting (I bolt) went into the slot in every gear. I pulled the tranny and noticed some metal shavings in the fluid so now I'm trying to figure out this problem. last week was a leak which it looks as if the servo cover was the culprit. thanks

Is this a transbrake transmission?

Hutch
Yes it has a trans brake but it has never been
hooked up
Sounds like the transbrake is coming on in low gear all by itself. Its possible there is a valve stuck due to the debris you said was in the oil. Best to have it looked at.

Hutch
The transbrake can come on even if it isn't wired up?
the valve in the valve body that the solenoid pushes i believe hutch is referring to
sense that one time
Well started tearing into the tranyy and find the servo does not have the rear oring seal on it and the servo piston ic cracked in like 5-6 places. does that sound like a possibility for the car to not move in drive. earlier I posted it as 1st gear but it is a rmvb so it was actually in drive.
Which servo??
I would think it could be the issue. I'm not real hip to the c-4's but I'm sure a cracked servo and missing o-ring could cause problems. Unless the o-ring is missing by design. Pretty sure the servo is not cracked by design.
Front servo is 2nd and at the back on a std trans 3rd accumulator oil.
I'm not to hip on transmissions but I sure hope what ever was going on was caused by the servo. I'd imagine a broken servo missing the seal would cause some havic on the transmission shifting gears or even working in gear
Guy who built it must have been smokin shroons...Lol

Need any c4 parts let me know..I have a whole shop full....
Odd problem in gear but the trans may have been built without the servo seal installed to use the full area of the servo. The broken servo may have been part of the problem if it was jammed in the case and was applying the band.

sometimes the oring is left out on purpose if the vent at the servo is plugged
that servo mod is fine, just get another servo and reinstall as was
or
better of get a billet 2nd servo from sonnax
undo the case mod done to your trans, you will be better off with a decent servo.
cheers
You sure the servo was broke or the 3 sides ground off like some does with that servo ..and they leave the oring off...
