What's the best way to get the melted/slag aluminum off Bore & Aluminum rod?

-Muriatic acid for the bore, scub and clean?
-Scrub, clean maybe pollish a little?

Thanks for any tricks or tips.

I've use the acid and works well....dab on rag and just keep going back and forth on it.

I'd put some oil on it after your done because she'll rust up real quick.
