What kind of cylinder head temperatures do you shoot for before you're making a pass without coolant in the block? Also, what kind of oil temp do you like to see?

When is a cylinder head too hot when not running any coolant?

I use a oil pan heater to get the oil hot, then I like to see the head temp get to 140. Right or wrong ?, that's just what I like to do.

I talked to Bob Szabo today and he told me he likes to see the oil temp at least 159 and the head temp between 160-180 and the head temp maintained through out the run. That's what I'm going to shoot for.

Get oil temp hot in the pits, cool the water temp down and the head temp and go run, try to stay 130-140, runs a little more efficient
