My son has a sixth grade math question here. The rule is to add parentheses to this equation so the answer is correct.

9 to the second power - 2 x 15 +16 - 8 = 11

Sorry, I do not know how to type 9 to the sec. without typing it out. Thanks

9^2 - 2 x (15+16) -8 = 11.

81 - 62 - 8 = 11.

9^2(-2(15+16)-8=11

I think...

15+16=31

31*-2=-62

-62-8=-70

81-70=11

Extra quotes not needed if you follow PEMDAS order.

Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract.
