Anyone have any experience w/ a marlin 30/30 win. model 30-as? I found a model 30-a but not an AS, found one the guy is askin 400.00 said it in good shape but have seen it yet. Is this a fair price and a good 30/30? Thanks.

marlin is typically a step up from the winn in that style of rifle

That was the first deer rifle I ever owned. My dad bought it for me. As far as 30/30's go, it's the only one I would ever want. Its a great rifle if you don't plan on shooting much over a 100 yards of so, but thats said of every 30-30.

Sorry don't know what they go for.

Ive heard the new plastic tipped pointed bullets have extended the range of 30-30's significantly.
