I'm tired of magnetic bases that have poor grip, especially in the bell housing. What one do you use?

I have a starret and some junk china piece...guess which one kicks ass. I will say the starret is old so maybe thats the problem

Do the articulated arms work in the bell housing or would the sliding arms be better? Thanks for the responses.

Noga , hands down is my favorite out of the 6 premium mag-bases I have .

make sure you get one with a fine adjust so you can pre-load your indicator easier. I hate using a holder with no fine adjust.

Maybe it's just because the base I used was made in China, but I hate the fine adjuster.

The Noga looks good, which one would do best to dial in a bell housing?

I never spent the money on a good mag base until I tried one for the first time, I bought it right from the tool guy. Best buy ever. I will never buy any brand other than noga now

I have a very old Starret also. We bought a new snap on dial indicator for it. You can stick it on something and hang your weeks worth of uniforms on it.
