Has anyone, or will anyone admit to it, tried using machined valve springs? I ran across this company in a NASATech magazine and wondered if it would have any advantages. A wire spring has the molecules aligned somewhat when the wire is drawn, and then is wound into the spring. I'm sure the manufacturers stress relieve it and heat treat it to get the best properties they can. Would a billet/machined spring offer any advantages? It looks like it would be possible to machine a one piece spring-retainer. I've heard Pro Stock used titanium springs before, and thought a one piece, titanium machined spring-retainer would be interesting.
