So I was running a 28x10.5x15 and they rubbed a tad bit.I couldn't find 28x10's in the jegs catalog so I went with 28x9. The 10.5's measured out 11.25" wide on the rim and the 28x9's are exactly 9" wide... im hoping this wont effect the way the car hooks by going with a narrower tire.what do u guys think???

I run 28x 10.5 15's on a 90 coupe. With a little hammer massage to the inner fender well and rolling the lip outside it doesn't touch. The car has been lowered about 1.5 inches or so as well.

I've seen cars run some pretty serious numbers on the 26x8.5 M/T . I think you'll be fine with the 28x9
