We have a problem.Motor is 578 ci wedge mopar,making 913hp at 6800rpm and 850 ft tq at 5400 rpm. The car is now going 3 tenths and 7 miles an hour slower. We installed a new 1150 alky carb, 9 convertor 5400 stall and 15x15x33 slicks. Old combo was 1050 gas carb, 14x15x32 slicks, and 9 inch convertor 5800 stall. Shifting motor at 6800 rpm, on the shift change, motor lags for 2.5 to 3 seconds at 6300 before building rpm. I have a fast 170402 dual gas O2 meter, reading 4.5 at idle, can’t seem to get it to playback after a run. Is it possible I am running to much jet, or??? I need help just trying to figure out where to look first. Also I do not have the old parts so I can’t go back to square one. Thanks for any advise. John :confused:

You are now running a bigger cfm carb, less stall, and taller tires. What did your 60' do? :smt102

Time to change the gears.. if you had a 32" tire that would grow to 33" and now you have a 33" tire that grows to 34" tire i'm sure your trap rpm is down thus your lack of 60ft and mph.. just my .02

Methanol, 1.8 straight cut glide with brake launch at 4000 on 2 step motor makes 850fttq at 5400 and 913hp at 6800

gear is a 4.30 weight 2947 with me in it car ran 8.72 156 before the old convertor died was at norwalk last week and car would only g0 9.02 at 148.6

4:56's will put you back in the 7100-7300 range at the big end as well as fix your 60ft time.. i would guess that 7200+/- is where you were going thru the traps before..

Whats the plug telling you ?
