Ok, so Tuesday I grabbed a Rem 700 7mm w/Vortex glass. Almost bought a 300 Win Mag instead that day. Fast forward to today (Friday).....and

Purchased a new Savage 10 FCP HS Precsion 300 Win Mag w/heavy 24" barrel. Will let the wallet cool off and get the Vortex Viper PST in 6-24x50 glass early next month. What do you think of these rounds......HSM Berger 185's and Nosler 180 Accubond's? Something else?

Definitely Berger. However look at applied ballistics ammunition and get some of their 215’s or 230’s.

190 Sierra match king from federal gold medal match is a nice round also for the 300

260rem or 300wm?

In theory 1000yd only stuff
I dont have any experience with the 260, but my 300 WM will shoot circles around my 6.5 CM @1000yds, if the wind is blowing. If it is calm out I can score pretty well with both of them....:)

Anyone here reload? I was going to get into it and started saving my brass but I don't see it happening in the near future with car projects. Shoot me PM if you're interested.
Brass is from my savage 10FP in .308, most of it is match grade once fired. I want the space back.

6 creedmoore, 6.5 creed, 6.5PRC are leaders if factory ammo is your bag. Ive seen .2moa with hornady box ammo out of all three calibers. If you are hand loading for steel/paper, then 6dasher, 6x47 , 6 br, 6bra and 6xc are the leaders. Hunting people lean more to 7saum, 28 nosler, 300 rum and 338edge
