In heavily monitored testing and feedback to Mickey Thompson...

(The crowd likes burn outs. Blower Cars are Louder. Hey Mickey Thompson we need some more tires since they work really well. 4.45 1/8 7.03 1/4)

I find a nice 150+ mph burnout allows me to put a hurting on the guy in the lane next to me...

Your mileage may vary...

I've just got a slow piece of shit, but in my experience in my car, spin them once in the water, pull ahead, get them lit, get it into high gear as soon as possible, hold around 4000 RPM until I see the first hint of smoke, then roll out. ET Drags.

i pull up untill the guy by the tree tells me to stop.
then i put it in 2nd
dump clutch at 3000 or so
rev to about 4500 for a few seconds
left off the brake and stay in it until it grips
(low hp car)

am i doing it wrong?
Yes!

You need to have a converter and not a clutch.
