What works best for radial launch when a few pairs of cars have gone down the track and the glue is gone in the center of the groove. Do you move over to get in the glue?

Of course they are gonna reglue after your run.

I've seen it work both ways, I'm not sure what the right answer is.
First qualifier at our local DR race (they always prep fresh for the DR cars) the only car out of 17 or 18 cars that got down the track lined up outside of the groove. I've seen plenty of times where being out of the groove didn't work. I'm behind the car so I don't feel the track, but the guy in front can feel how well the prep is and maybe he should feel it out and suggest where to put it. I always put him in the groove, unless we decide earlier to try something different.

I would think it's more power management and not grove/not in the grove.
This is why the large radial races prep the track multiply times threw classes. Tyler prepped the track twice for rvsw, twice for X and then again for ultra and 235 so that's 6 "prepping's" for 4 classes.
