Every trans builder I have worked with (CK, Extreme & Hutch) have all told me, do not start your burnout in first gear. 2nd to 3rd. You're on a radial so it doesn't need to be a big burnout.

Not an option with an automatic valve body.

I just get the tires rolling in first, then shift to second. Perform burnout in second, then shift to third and leave the burnout under power. Never hurt a transmission in 20+ years like this.
