I run a Coan conv. (4500) and Coan 400 trans. I was told that I should leave 1000 rpm under the conv. or I will be hurting the conv. is this true? Thanks

Does the rated 4500 rpm stall converter actually flash there and have you tested it.

A nice starting point is 3800-4000. It is not recommended to lay on the converter without a rev limit as it creates a lot of heat and it is very hard on the converter and all its internal parts.
