Could be wrong, but I'd imagine that this is all about controlling the content, and its delivery in the future. They are seeing dollar figures dancing before their eyes, and believe the general public will participate in a pay-per-view type of scenerio (not me, couldn't give a single phuck for the big show).Moving forward on International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach’s reform process, Olympic leaders backed his proposals Saturday for setting up an Olympic television channel, reshaping the bid city procedure, and adding more flexibility to the sports program.
I also think that the fact that voters are demanding referendums prior to bidding, and most recently have voted no in some cases, is scaring the bejeezes out of the gravy train group. If ordinary citizens start over ruling the political class, who will pay for the parties???
