It's no big secret that the VA is constantly behind in veterans' claims. It's almost excepted fact when a service member is injured, he will most likely not be helped. Now the VA is behind by 900,000 service members, a record rate even though new employees have been hired to handle the workload. It's a stupid and slow process overlaid with technology. Here is a video of Gen. Hickey backpedaling on her lack of ability to eliminate the bureaucracy stopping veterans from receiving claims. It's ridiculous someone with an amputation has to wait 3 years for their claim to be approved. For more complicated claims Mr. Filner is suggesting a system be put in place, like the IRS, where claims are approved but subject to audit.

This video gets interesting at 3:03:17, but no one will question your patriotism if you skip parts.
