Inlet temps, how cold is too cold?

Just like the title said, looking for data on inlet temps. If you do not want to disclose info on the forum, shoot me a pm and I'll call you.
I did something a little different with my intercooler setup, and the temps are crazy low through the whole run. This is a efi SBC running Q-16. What would be ideal temps, and what would be too low (if that's possible)?
Thanks in advance,
Don Barnett

what did you do to get temp low and how low?
50 at the start 53 at the stripe (1/4 mile).
What fuel.
I did ok, second pass on the car, first trying to go to the end of the track it went 8.81 at 168.00 with low boost, no leave, no timing, and too much fuel. Picked up 40 out the back, so that is something to be a little happy about. Then I figured out the trans/converter combo was hurt. So I staged first round and costed to the end of the track. It is fixed now, so I am ready for some testing. Just glade to see the data, now I can start putting some power to it.

I would talk to Jason at VP and ask about your temps. Q-16 might like the cold more, sorry did not see the fuel mentioned in your post.
So what did you do????:)
When I read this... your question was the first thing I thought. Then I read...

I wouldn't think AITs are top secret but if he's offering the privacy olive branch on something trivial like that... he sure as hell aint telling what he did.

So what'd you do? :-D

I'll take a few pics this week, I just tried something a bit "out of the box". My I/C tubing runs through the Ice/ water bath on inlet and outlet. Temps are flatlined now:rolleyes:.

What are you using for an AIT gauge and where is it located? To say, are you sure you are reading the air and not the tubing wall temp?
It is @ 3' away in the Elbow. It also passes through 1 45* silicon coupling and one straightsilicon coupling.
I have the PT2400 cooler(BIG Bastard from procharger) & Iam around 67 leaving the line & 73 at the end.........I measure the AIT right before the TB.

I've seen Don's setup-its very "unique"!!!LOL:-D
Speaking of Don-Are you still mad at me over the "8.0h comment"? I hope NOT I was absolutely joking with you!!!!!

See you soon,

Good to hear bro'........Oh-I have Q16 in my car also w/those inlet temps........
Have you figured out what your gonna do about the cooling system-with the Geardrive & Xi?? Or are you NOT gonna go geardrive?

73* damn Chris it's a wonder you don't burn the rubber boots off the boost tubes with temps that hot.

145*, is that good? I hope so.:p
I thought I was good W/116* temps that's where it was when we went teen's. Now I'm in the 50's and not running any faster:confused:.
Chris, I am going gear drive, but have no clue how i'm going to do the cooling system yet. Once all the pieces are here I'll jump that hurdle!
DonB.

Gary, it was nice meeting you at Atco.
you too Don, I am in the fifties also, I have to lie to Chris once in a while is all.
When i lowered my inlet temps 50 degrs i gained very little. Tell i removed fuel, My air fuel went pig rich 9.0
C16 prefers a hottor temp it seems and Q seems more forgiving to colder stuff. Are you having to add more lbs/hr fuel with it 60 degree colder to maintain a/f?

I have a few ideas to keep IATs reeeeal cold but cant do it in one class and not so sure if its even worth having 40 degree IATs. Sure likes it NA though
