I think they are in big trouble with their old customers because they are only going to discount and not replace. The question I have and haven't been able to get an anwser on is the Impact helmets. Do they fall under this discertification or not? Does anybody out there know? I know the helmets are Snell rated, but did these guys use false Snell labels also? If anybody knows please ring in.

Thanks,
Rick

As far as I know the helmets are not affected by this. I think it is funny you still see all the Top Fuel and Funny Car drivers wearing Impact equipment. They drive the most dangerous cars in the sport and if they feel comfortable with Impact products I'm sure I will be fine in my 11 sec car with them.

I agree the suits etc. are fine, but units bought 2009 not certified anymore and unusable. Those of us that bought suits in 2008 and earlier cannot use them as of 04/27/2010.
Now we get a discount towards a new suit? The drivers did not put Impact into this position, Impact did by buying knockoff SFI Tags from China.

My feelings are they should supply all concerned new stuff. If not they'll never get any of my $$ again. Just my 2 centavos worth.

IMPACT PRESS RELEASE - APRIL 20st 2010

Be advised that SFI has made the decision that as of April 27th, 2010 our products manufactured in 2008 and previous years are decertified. Impact strongly disagrees with this decision. SFI's decision does not apply to products purchased in 2009, 2010 and forward.

In light of the decertification, if any of our customers have to replace their products we can offer firesuits at a discounted price based on date of purchase, restraint systems at the
trade-in price and free shipping.
(Sounds like they are saying "Hey thanks for letting us bend you over, and now letting us going even deeper - no lube required.")
