What would you build? stips are iron block std bore space and 20deg inline heads and build it for as big a hit as you want.

I'm thinking 4" stroke, GRP rods, Dart block, and Diamond pistons. I would build the short block so the piston is in the hole .060 total seal ring pack. 13.5 to 1 comp. Head I am thinking the TFS highports by TEA 245cc Edelbrock Vic glidden intake 2 of Steve's foggers and let it rip:smt071

Would like to put a 4.250" crank but not sure if it would be too much stroke and cubes to feed with 20deg heads.

Depends on how fast you need to go. Mine is a 4" stroke with victor jr heads and runs 5.30's on a plate kit. I would think that mine would go faster with a fogger but I havent got around to that yet. Like I said it all depends on how fast you want to go

I had a 4.25 stroke in mine before, and the 4" stroke motor has been faster. Thats with the same top end as I have now. But it would haul ass on the motor.

for a grudge car I would want to go as fast as possible on a 28 10.5 tire I would put it in a stock suspension fox mustang and get it as light as possible. I would think that you could get close to 800 hp n/a out of a sbf nitrous motor with 20deg head.

I have a set of Kuntz Track 1's and matching 4150 flange intake. This is a good thread for me to get some ideas for a new build.

any thought as to why the 4.25 stroke slowed down? could it have required a gear change?

4.165 bore
4.00 stroke
9.5 deck block
Diamond pistons 13.5 to 1
Old hanlon hi ports updated for a big motor
.920 lift 55 mm roller bearing/.937 lifters
2828 manifold
840+hp 610ft lb tq ;)

nice! I always hear of engines with 4" stroke or 4.1" on sbf builds how come no one uses the 4.25 stroke?

I'd build a 440ci

Dart block, 9.5
4.185 bore, Gas ported pistons, 1.280 comp height
4" stroke, Billet
6.2 aluminum rods
Bullet Camshaft .950"ish
TEA 255 TFS High Ports or Kuntz T1RI
CHI 4.0 intake
3 guns.. 2 foggers and a plate
Turbo glide transmission

how much nitrous do you think you could spray on that combo with so little gasket material between the cyl?
