90 mustang with a 347 with a xtrim vortech making 22-25# of boost. i have a 6al right now is their something better or somethings else to lose. feels like on the dyno on the top end like the spar is blowing out. tha plugs aare gapped at .18 thanks

10 plus is 700 mj . That's what I'm running , just don't have all the bells and whistles of the 7 . But it's on a 477 BBC w/14-71 on alch .

Digi 7 for the street if just fine.
Drag only Digi 7 once you out run the the 7 you can piggy back an MSD 8 or 10 with the Digi 7.

WHAT ABOUT A 7Al-2 BOX?
The best way to compare ignition systems is the amount of energy delivered to the spark plug. This is rated in millijoules.

MSD 6al-105-115 millijoules
MSD Digital 6-135 mj
MSD 7al2-105-115 mj
MSD 7al3-160 mj
MSD Digital 7-190 mj
MSD 12 ProMag-300 mj
MSD 8- 315-345 mj
MSD 20 ProMag-600 mj
MSD 10 plus-700 mj
MSD 44 ProMag-950 mj

You make the choice.

Now the ProMags are induction type ignition systems and all of the others except for the 10 Plus are capacitive discharge ignitions. The 10 plus is the only one that mates both these type of ignitions together for the best of both worlds.

While we are on ignition questions, I have one closely related.

I am running a 10.5-1 compression 393 stroker with a YSi on E85. It sees equal amount of strip and short cruising. I am running a MSD Digital+ with the HVC-2 8253 coil. I am planing on upping the boost, and concerned about enough spark.

I can not afford another box and coil, and was looking at the Mallory 28880 coil. Would this be a improvement, and would it be compatible with the Digital 6 box? It is listed as a Race unit, so would it work for cruises of 1 hour max? Any coil that would be a better choice?
