looking to get a good starting point for my carb 358 12:1 600 lift solid roller 39* timing 550 hp any suggestions are apprecated

other then checking idle manifold vac to adjust the p/v rate accordingly . run it the way it came out of the box and tune from there.

It was on a another motor that was way bigger I got it used it has 86 in the front and 88's in the rear both blocked off no power valves? I ran it yesterday it rans great at idle but breaks up on a load and the plugs where black?

yea I got a 800 cfm old silver claw that works good but I still need some jet and power vavle help?

hp950 seams to like 78 pri. with a power valve and 86 rear jet . This is where I would start with that carb.

Without a primary power valve its gonna run like ass at cruise.

76 pri/ 82 rear blocked PV is what I ran. great starting point.

That's where I started. (with help from fellow members) 76p/82m 6.5p/blocked m and it ran great. This is just a starting point adjust as needed.
