Hey guys i was wondering if there was any guidlines or "rules" when it comes to visualy inspecting a slip yoke?

What to look for to see if it is bad or not?

The driveshaft was bent and the yoke was rubbing on the bushing in the tail housing. The Bushing was bad for sure! But not sure if i could still use the slip yoke? You can see some wear marks on it from the rubbing but other than that it looks pretty good.

Also is there anything i can feel for?

Any input would be appreciated!

thx
Tony

Take a micrometer and check it's dimension and also a perfect straight edge and put it along the GH surface and move it around the GH area making sure there are no major defects you can see.
There shouldn't be any major gaps between the 2

A bent or out of balanced shaft will wreck seals and trans bushings and bearings along with differentials
