It is 100 degrees today and thank goodness my car is in the shop with the A/C on. But if I was racing, my bottle would be too hot and building excessive pressure. I saw it doing that at Mooresville last week and it was only low 90s. So I got to come up with a method to keep the bottle cool. I'm thinking a wet towel with a small fan blowing on it. I get 4 passes on a bottle with the little time I spray so removing it is not practical. Anyone have any siggestions on keeping the bottle cool in the car on these extremely hot days? RM

I've never known anyone to have a problem with this. What do you consider excessive? Also if the bottle is closed the line will always build high pressre but not hurt anything.

I run at 950 PSI so excessive to me is 1100 PSI or more. I don't shut my bottle off between passes I just shut the quarter turn valve off. I realize that is not excessive to popping the safety or anything but it is a waste of NOS as well as it takes time to blow it down. I installed a bigger blow off tube today which should help. I had a 1/8 copper line and went to a 3/16 steel brake line. It seems to dump the line alot faster.

That's about where we run ours but that's your side of it. So yes take these guys advice and maybe keep a cooler full of ice water and a towel. Or another N2O bottle too cool off that one. LOL that would be quicker.

I ran into this problem a few weeks ago. I was swaping bottles out after every pass. I had just put a new one in but when I opened the bottle the pressure was 1200. I had to pull it out and I put it in a bucket of ice for a few minutes it dropped the pressure down to about 700psi. So then I had to heat it back up. It was a good thing I had some time between rounds. :-damnit

we carry the zip lock freezer bags with us and fill a couple with ice and place them at the bottom of the bottle on a towel... take them out right before we pull out....... lay the towel out when we get back and it dries up........ david

Zip-lock bags with a little ice in them wil keep it in check. Just remember to take them out before the run. They turn into water ballons when you launch :D

I'll try the cold rags and see how that works. The air temp and sun is only one issue. The floor pans and tunnel radiate more heat between rounds than the air temp and sun produce. Thanks for all the help. As always it is appreciated.
