I have a 4-valve Mach 1 engine (aluminum block, stock cast crank/pistons/rods) that I would eventually like to put some boost to. This is a daily driver type of car, I don't have 9 second aspirations for it, but would like an easy 10 or 11 second car that has really good street manners.

How much power can I realistically expect to make with boost before needing to put forged components in the bottom end?

As for a power adder, I have an Eaton M112 blower.

yeah 8-10 psi seems to be the limit and 10 psi is more like the upper boundary where success is mixed. Rings gaps are really tight to which doesn't help at all.

Why not just go ahead and put the forged rods/pistons in it? Even at 8-10 psi on pump gas you are playing a dangerous game with the quality of pump gas today.
