Just getting ready to put the top end back on my SBC.

I have 13* Profiler heads and Engler mechanical fuel injection on methanol. Motor is 422"

I have previously run these heads at 14.5:1 compression, but I have been playing around with head gasket thickness and I can get 15.5:1 comfortably.

Its not a max effort deal, hoping for 860hp or so, so is the extra point of compression really worth narrowing up the tuning window for?

Not aplles to apples, but back when I was involved in a NHRA Comp Elim. program in the early 90's we got to 17-1 before it stopped making more power, that was a 347" Buick with a 30ish cc chamber and small dome.
