Id like to take a informal poll, so that guys can have a reference/ starting point for what air pressure to fill their slicks with.
Please provide as much info as necessary.

How much air do you run in your Slicks?
What brand slicks?
How much does your car weigh?
What type of rear suspension do you have?
What size rear tire?
60 foot E.T. and car type?

My 64 Chevelle has a 4 link and so far in limited testing, I have had a 1.33 60' best time, at 3460lbs w/driver and 7.0lbs of air in the M/T 13.5x31x15 slicks. Ive tried upwards of 8lbs of air. The 60' time slowed down.

Loaded question. I have posted this before. Your gauge may read 5 lbs, mine on the same tire reads 10 lbs. Use it as a reference point. Run as much air in your tires w/o spinning. Then set them to that point on YOUR gauge only. Just like EGT. All of them read different on same car. Use as reference point, that your turning back to same point always. Same with timing lights, delay boxes, transbrakes, etc. They all are not exact!

There is I formula that you divide the weight by. Gets you a great starting point for a baseline. I remeber that was amazingly close. It cannot find the factor.
Steven, how new are those tires?
