RIYADH, 28 November 2004 — An old man who registered to vote in Riyadh remained on the premises for a long time, Al-Riyadh reported. An official working there asked him why he was waiting. The old man answered that he was waiting for a dinner party after registration. He thought that the ministry would have a party for those who registered to vote. And in another voter-registration story, an old man refused to accept his election card because he said his picture was ugly. He insisted that another picture be taken but refused that one as well for the same reason. He refused to leave until a third picture was taken which he pronounced the ugliest of all. In the end, he agreed to accept the first card with the original ugly picture.
