I have a Gen 6 502 block how do you plug the by-pass valve on it ? Do you use a soft plug or tap it for a pipe plug ? Also if you are not running an oil cooler and plug the inlet and outlet on the block do you leave the other by-pass valve out or ?

Tap it for 1/2 pipe, use an internal hex style plug .
My buddy uses 20mm soft plugs,I like the tapped hole.
leave the valve out that is in the center all it does is route the oil to the factory oil cooler port on the pan rail.
The oil has to make more turns if you leave it in.

some of them ALSO have a spring loaded valve that is pressed into the horizontal galley.
one of the galley ends at the pipe plug where the stringer or oil cooler line would tap into/out of.
