I'm looking at putting a fabricated 9" housing in my truck, but I wanted to know how critical the pinion offset is. The entire drivetrain is offset 1.375" to the passenger side from the factory. The place I'm looking at getting my housing from only offers the pinion centered, or with a .500" or 1" offset.

If I go with the 1" offset, that's less than a half degree of angle given that my driveshaft is 60" long. This doesn't strike me as being a big deal, but I wanted to see what those with more experience think. This is for a 3800lb, mid-9 second vehicle that will see up to 7000rpms.
