What’s the deal with the Hoosier 10.5w? I seen a car with them on it at the Yellowbullet nats. I did a quick search and nothing really recent came up. Are they available to the public? Will the fit on a 16” wide rim? Is there a tube option? Do you even need a tube? Kind of cool to see another manufacturer throw their hat in the ring in a what is now a radial dominated class. Will Mickey Thompson stop making the bias ply 10.5w?

Where I race, those fucking things tried to kill me, I could not make a clean pass, even the track announcer was like "huh"
Finally a couple guys who knew my truck, and how well it went down the track came up and asked "WTF".
When they saw I was running Hoosier 10.5s, they said park it, or your gonna die.

Tommy Mauro?
Mobley/Ulsch/Sexton had a team with them many moons ago and it never panned out
2-3 years ago a couple guys tested them and once again it never panned out.
Unsure of the sponsor deal Mauro has but he's ran some decent numbers and have kept them on the car.

More info on your combo please? Weight, power adder, rear suspension? Was this recently? Thanks.

the only problem with the hoosiers in 10.5 they were originally to wide and Mickey was sponsoring the series. I would run them in a heartbeat without a worry

I had seen that Tim Essick had Hoosiers on for the Yellowbullet nats. I did a little research and seen that he had been 3.89 in Virginia last year with the Mickey’s. Also noticed that he switched back to the Mickeys for the first round of the Shakedown (not sure if he tested).

We ran both years ago, before the class died down here in FL, thusly still 15" wheel diameter not 16". - The Hoosiers were a 105-106" roll-out compared to the 102" of the Mickey's. Getting two that were the same roll-out and stayed the same after the burn-out seemingly was an issue for some who tried them.

We kept a set of each on two sets of wheels, would stick the Hoosiers on for the added roll-out when the track wasn't as good.
