Well i hate to say it but stay away from craftsman, might as well us harbor frieight stuff. Cambell Hausfield has a good pump made of cast iron oil lubed. Lowes sells em and they have a 120 volt that can be converted to 230 later on if you want, just my 2 cents worth.

I have a 2 stage Ingersol 80 gallon and love it, it's always been enough. Check with home depot, I got mine as a refurb and paid almost half price, been working great for over 5 yrs

If you're doing body work and some sanding or using a die grinder to port some heads etc, you're going to want at least 60 gallon tank. Don't know if you have TSC (Tractor Supply) in your neck of the woods, but they have Ingersoll Rand and have pretty good prices on them. I would consider that the minimum.

80 gallon 2 stage should run anything you have, I have a 60 gallon upright 6.5 hp and its fine for what I use it for such as air up tires, dust a part or 2 off in my blast cabinet, blow stuff off with the blow gun etc.

I have had 2 Craftsman units over the last 18 years (first one lasted 16 and the second is still going) When the first unit finally quit, I kept the tank, removed the motor and hooked the two tanks together. Now I have 120 gallon capacity. Works great and the unit only cycles half as often. True, while it does run longer to fill it is not stopping and starting all the time. I use mine almost daily.

Recently Jimmy Biggs is using it almost daily as well. Ha!

I had a Craftsman single stage 6 hp 60 gallon compressor. After a couple of years it started throwing the rods out. They had a repair kit for it (imagine that) but after a couple of times, I threw it into the woods, and bought a Husky from Home Depot. Dual stage Vtwin 80 gallons for 829 bucks. Works fine for anything I do so far including bodywork and porting heads, etc.

I have a craftsman Gold 33 gallon I have had it for 8 years and just this winter I had to rebuild the cylinders and its working fine. The rebuild kit was $90. It works pretty good but has a hard time keeping up with the grinder.
